Meet The Founder

Parakh Jain.
The Man Behind The Cut.

Parakh started Basics & Offbeat in 2012. He still measures most of our customers himself, and he personally checks every wedding order before it leaves the store.

What He Stands For

01

A Real Tailor, Not A Touch-Up Shop.

When Parakh opened the store in 2012, most "tailors" in Indore were just alteration shops. He wanted something different — a place that actually makes clothes from scratch, properly, the way a tailor should.

02

One Person, One Signature Style.

Every Basics & Offbeat outfit goes through Parakh's hands. The shoulder shape, the way the jacket falls, the small details — they all have his touch. You're not getting a "design by committee".

03

Two fittings. Always.

Most tailors do one fitting. We do two — because one fitting isn't enough to get the clothes really right. After 10,000+ outfits, this is the one rule we never break.

"If I stop meeting every new customer myself, the store stops being what I built it to be."

Parakh still meets every new customer at their first visit. He helps them pick the fabric, takes the measurements, and watches the first fitting in person. For wedding orders, he checks the finished piece personally before it goes home with you.
